Coil belts

Monitoring and testing of slings made of chemical fibres (100 % polyester) must be carried out at least once a year by an expert (qualified person in accordance with Section 10 BetrSichV). Depending on the conditions of use and operational circumstances, further inspections by an authorised person may be required in the meantime. Due to the stresses placed on slings, it is strongly recommended that shorter inspection intervals than once a year are specified. Slings made of man-made fibres must be observed for obvious defects during use. If defects are found that impair safety, the slings must be withdrawn from further use. Lifting slings made of man-made fibres that are contaminated or soiled with aggressive substances or other substances that could endanger their use must be carefully inspected and, if necessary, tested, e.g. by the manufacturer. Lifting slings made of man-made fibres have no expiry date if used as intended and regularly inspected. There is no specified maximum service life in accordance with DGUV 209-061.
