# pull-out shelving

Pull-out shelving – an all-rounder in warehouse logisticsDo you store heavy goods weighing up to several tonnes? Do these goods need to be used frequently, and therefore need to be easily accessible and quick to locate? Do you want to make optimum, space-saving use of your storage space? And above all: should the storage and retrieval of goods be carried out safely by a single person? Then heavy-duty pull-out shelving such as the ArmStrong® systems are indispensable fixtures in your warehouse.

What are the advantages of pull-out shelving?

Pull-out shelving takes up little space. They can be built to great heights, thereby making optimum use of the space.

The construction is solid and robust, making them suitable for storing the heaviest goods with high bay loads.

The shelves or drawers can be easily pulled out using ball bearings.

Pull-out racking can be operated by a single person manually, or using a crane or hoisting equipment. This saves on the space required for forklift trucks to manoeuvre (storage in very confined spaces).

A pull-out stop or locking mechanism prevents the shelves from being pulled out too far and ensures that no more than the required shelf is extended. This enhances workplace safety. Shelves or shelves that extend unintentionally can cause injuries to operators and warehouse staff.

What are pull-out shelving units used for?

Heavy-duty pull-out shelving units are typically used where particularly valuable goods need to be stored securely and accessed frequently. Examples of such heavy goods include

machinery,

engines,

machine parts,

palletised goods,

injection moulds or

tools and equipment such as punching dies.

Pull-out shelving makes it easier to store the goods mentioned, particularly when they need to be accessed and returned to storage frequently. With pull-out shelving, you can customise the layout of your shelving unit using the pull-out function. The pull-out shelves ensure that the stored goods are easily accessible. Pull-out shelving units can be configured to a wide range of shelf heights and can support bay loads or high load capacities of up to several thousand kilograms or several tonnes.

They therefore require a solid base. Any unevenness in the floor can be compensated for using suitable accessories. Typical applications include warehouses in industry and the manufacturing sector. This shelving system is ideal for the requirements of these applications. However, they are also frequently used in specialist retail outlets.
