# HandlingMaster – Vacuum Crossbeam

What is a HandlingMaster and how does it work?



A HandlingMaster is a vacuum traverse and is also known as a sheet metal manipulator. The HandlingMaster product from storemaster® was developed specifically for the sheet metal storage drawers and flats of the MasterTower® racking system.



Generally speaking, the HandlingMaster is a device for the automated handling (as the name suggests) or management of sheet metal and similar stored goods such as cartons, pipes or pallets. Handling Masters often resemble robots and have electrically or hydraulically driven arms. These arms are fitted with gripping devices or suction cups, which are used to grasp the sheet metal, pull it out of the storage unit, hold it in place and move it. The sheet metal can be transported whilst being rotated or tilted.



The HandlingMaster’s automatic control systems are often fitted with cameras or sensors that enable the position of the metal sheets or stored goods to be determined precisely. They eliminate the need for manual handling of the metal sheets. This results in increased efficiency and improved health and safety in warehouses.



What types of sheet metal can the HandlingMaster handle?



As a complement to the MasterTower® racking system, the HandlingMaster from storemaster® enables the handling of all sheets on the racking. It makes no difference whether the sheets are stored in sheet packs in drawers, on storemaster® system pallets or on wooden pallets.



Would you like to separate double sheets? No problem. The HandlingMaster features a double-sheet separation function with anti-adhesion technology. Additional ventilation allows the sheets to be separated from one another in a controlled manner.



How much weight can the HandlingMaster carry?



When integrated as part of the MasterTower® system, the HandlingMaster can carry up to 400 kilograms of sheet metal. When used externally as a standalone unit, it can handle up to 750 kilograms. Thanks to its low overall height of just 350 millimetres, a maximum number of drawers can be accessed for use.



Is the HandlingMaster easy to operate and control?



Like all systems from the manufacturer storemaster®, this tool has also been developed on the basis of and for the purpose of the simplest possible handling methods. Using the multifunctional control panel, the operator picks up the stored goods and raises or lowers them using a thumb lever. The operating handle can be swivelled with millimetre precision, adjusted telescopically for height and locked into place electrically.



The suction pad for the metal sheets is spring-loaded, articulated and adjustable, and features a soft lip. Double sheets can be separated at the touch of a button and gently released by additional venting. Further features and modules for safe and ergonomic handling include a coiled cable for power and control, as well as an audible warning device.
