ArmStrong® – the cantilever racking system for heavy loads

The name says it all with ArmStrong®: you can store heavy, long and bulky goods easily and safely on the hot-dip galvanised „strong arms“ of our classic heavy-duty racking system. ArmStrong® is designed for high load-bearing capacity and is extremely flexible. Thanks to the tried-and-tested plug-in system, you can adapt it entirely to your needs. Each of the strong arms is hot-dip galvanised and weather-resistant.

What sets our ArmStrong® racking apart?

The key benefits at a glance:

Optimal use of space

Compact design

Ability to access each item individually

The term „cantilever“ comes from the verb „to cantilever“ or ‘to project’. In buildings, balconies or bay windows ‘cantilever’ out from the building line. In storage racking, it is the protruding cantilever arms that support the stored goods. Cantilever arms are steel beams that are attached to vertical support profiles. Depending on the racking model, they can be extended on one or both sides. They are secured by horizontal connectors. Cross-braces provide additional stability to the structure, thereby ensuring maximum load-bearing capacity.

Cantilever racking can be fitted with side panels. These are known as roll-off guards. They prevent round items, such as pipes, from falling to the floor, thereby improving workplace safety. For smaller goods, shelving or mesh boxes can also be used.

Different types of cantilever racking

A distinction is made between single-sided and double-sided cantilever racking. The former can only be loaded and unloaded from one side, whilst the latter can be accessed from both sides. Single-sided cantilever racking is fixed to the rear wall, which increases its stability and workplace safety. Double-sided cantilever racking can be placed in the middle of the warehouse and loaded and unloaded from both sides. It should be noted that an even distribution of the goods’ weight increases the racking’s stability.

If the load capacities for the racking are particularly high (heavy-duty racking), firm anchoring to the floor is recommended for both single-sided and double-sided racking. If the racking is to be installed outside the hall, a canopy can protect both the racking and the stored goods from the elements.

Applications for ArmStrong® racking

Our ArmStrong® racking systems are primarily suited to horizontal and bulky long goods such as pipes, beams, planks, rods or sections. Heavy-duty racking is also used to store sheet and panel materials such as steel or timber panels, sheet metal or building materials. The stored goods are kept individually, in bundles, in storage cassettes or in mesh boxes. These storage racks are used in industrial facilities and warehouses, but also, for example, in larger libraries.
