# What on earth have you actually invented? – a chronology.

We are constantly being asked: „What on earth have you actually invented?“
For this reason, we have compiled a clear overview for you in our INNoBlog below:
Chronology of storemaster® innovations
1979 – ArmStrong® cantilever system
The ArmStrong® cantilever system for sheet metal storage, which has been in production since 1979, inspired the development of a sheet metal handling storage system designed to eliminate the constant back-and-forth movement of sheet metal pallets between the warehouse and the machine.
1992 – Pull-out system for sheet metal pallets
A drawer system for heavy tools, which had been in production since 1980, was redesigned in 1992 into a pull-out system for seven sheet metal pallets, which could be positioned directly at the machine to allow sheet metal removal without the need for a forklift.
1996 – Redesigned, improved pull-out units and a suitable depalletiser
In 1996, the pull-out units were redesigned to meet users’ requests for a greater number of drawers within the system. The new pull-out units now allowed entire sheet metal stacks of up to 100 mm in height to be loaded using a conveyor belt, without the need for a wooden pallet. In this way, the system could now accommodate 13 different types of sheet metal, each weighing 3,000 kg.
To enable the sheet metal stack to be separated from the wooden pallet prior to storage, the ingeniously simple yet highly effective patented diagonal cross depalletiser was invented in the same year, 1996.
1998 – Electrification with push-button control
As early as 1998, storemaster® succeeded in electrifying the 13 heavy-duty drawers with a simple push-button control system. Today, this system is used to move drawers with a payload of up to 20 t. However, we wanted even more types of sheet metal to be available for quick, direct access at the machine. So we set to work …
2000 – MasterTower
The highlight in sheet metal handling technology then came in 2000 with the MasterTower®. Thanks to a crane-vacuum sheet metal retrieval system integrated into the drawer system – including a superstructure that could serve as storage space for additional sheet metal pallets – it was now possible to relieve the burden on the on-site crane system.
2001 – ShuttleTower®
The ShuttleTower® cassette system was created in 2001, offering the highest capacity of any sheet metal storage system operable by forklift.
2006 – TwenTower®
In 2006, storemaster® responded to the challenge set in 1998 – to make more sheet metal grades available for direct access – with the TwenTower® system for 20 drawers.
2007 – Patented components
A UVV anti-pass-through device for double-sided sheet metal retrieval, as well as the UVV drawer anti-fall device requiring no manual operation, were patented in 2007.
2008 – Further Patents
The combination of drawer and cassette as an interchangeable system with replaceable cassette inserts was patented in 2008.
2012 – Patenting of a sheet metal separation device
In 2012, a sheet metal separation device was patented for vacuum technology, which counteracts the accident-prone adhesion between sheets.
In the field of long-item storage, the ArmStrong®swingout swivel-compartment system was patented in 2012. Thanks to its design, which has been thought through down to the smallest detail, the ArmStrong®swingout has since held its own excellently against cheap imitation products.
2014 – ShiftMaster®
To meet the demand for automatic machine feeding, the robot-controlled ShiftMaster® was invented in 2014. The ShiftMaster® was funded as a ZIM project.
Furthermore, in 2014, the patented euroflat® load carrier was awarded the Blue Angel eco-label. The euroflat® load carrier for sheet metal packs requires no wooden pallets whatsoever.
2015 – Expansion of the TwenTower®
The TwenTower® system was expanded in 2015 with 25 drawers to better meet the original challenge set in 1998.
2017 – Improved coil storage
In 2017, storemaster® invented a highly flexible handling and storage system for coil storage, ensuring that even thin-sheet coils remain permanently free from dents.

Attempts at imitation and copycats have so far come up short, as storemaster® maintains its strong market position thanks to the highest standards of quality and design ingenuity. We live by our mission statement and are true pioneers in storage technology.
